Scam Emails

This latest Nigerian email scam had me chuckling. Of course, the thought of someone scamming somebody isn’t funny but the way this is worded is quite amusing - apparently I have been selected to be scammed by virtue of a random draw! Whoopee! A double whammy.

FROM THE DESK OF SOLOMON T. BARTHS & ASSOCIATES, 20 LATEEF SALAMI LANE, P.O.BOX 104 VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA.

Hello, I wish to inform you that your name and e-mail address which was extracted with other names from the internet came up in a random draw conducted by our law firm, it was according to the wish of my late philanthropic client.

My name is Barrister SOLOMON T. BARTHS, a personal attorney to our late client Mr. James Harrison who use to worked for an oil firm in Nigeria. Mr. James Harrison a well known Philanthropist, before he died, he made a Will stating that $7.2M (Seven million and two hundred thousand us dollars) should be donated to any Philanthropist of our choice overseas who will be ready to use this fund for the less privilege. We have made a random draw that your e-mail address was picked as the beneficiary to this Will.

I am particularly interested in securing this money from the Bank, because they have issued a notice instructing us to produce the beneficiary to this Will within two weeks or else the fund will be credited to the Government treasury as per law here. It is my utmost desire to execute the Will of our late client.

You are required to contact me immediately for further details.
Congratulation.
Solomon T. Barths.
