HOW DID YOU SCORE?

Which answer did you choose most often?

Mostly ‘A’s
Either through choice, or fear of technology, you make little use of email, opting to keep in touch with just a handful of friends and family. Those people that you do email appreciate the personal nature of your messages.

Mostly ‘B’s
You use email to keep in contact with those closest to you, both at home and in your professional life. Sometimes you find it quicker to Cc the same message to everyone but then that’s what that function is for, right?

Mostly ‘C’s
You offer a product via your website and you’re sure everyone wants it. Where’s the harm in using email to alert people to it’s existence? After all, marketing is the essence of business, isn’t it?

Mostly ‘D’s
You have a product. You’ve spent a lot of money on it but found that no-one wants it. The answer? SPAM EVERYONE!! Better yet, hire a dodgy company and/or kids to do it for you because you have so many people you’d like to bombard with your junk product and don’t have time to do it yourself!

I would be a terrible spammer - I don’t really like email. Sometimes there’s a fun one but it’s mostly just work to slog through.

Do you mean work as in your day job, or work related to your own site?

I mean work and personal email. I enjoy email from friends and family and email related to my site but my personal email includes a lot of newsletters, things my ex wants me to do, lawyer stuff, and volunteer requests from school and childcare.

Work email is obviously annoying because they want me to work.

Absolutely not. They should pay me full wages to work on my own projects ;-)

I am not a spammer, but the temptation of being a scammer by using the social networking sites is very high. I`ve read some articles about what can be done with Digg. Digg works on the principle that Internet surfers find a newsworthy piece of information, “digg it” and then the rest of the community can digg it some more or bury it.
This is manipulated by webmasters and SEOs “digging” their own sites to get the ball rolling and then, by these same webmasters encouraging friends to further digg it, offering fellow webmasters reciprocal diggs to do the same or simply by offering others cash to add their diggs to the equation.

Digging your own site - is that scamming, self-promotion or just a little manipulation?

Whilst i would never pay for Diggs, or spam strangers, it can be useful to ask people to simply roll their eyes over your content sometimes.
