A forwarded email asks, “Did the former US First Lady Laura Bush kill Michael Douglas?”
In 1963, according to a public records, Laura Bush (then known as Laura Welch) was involved in a fatal car accident in Texas. According to the report, Laura Welch allegedly had been driving when her car passed a stop sign and struck a sedan driven by a 17-year-old boy named Michael Douglas (no, not the one from Hollywood). Michael Douglas died after suffering a broken neck. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Midland Memorial Hospital.
There have been numerous rumors over the years regarding Laura Welch’s conduct at the time and whether she was at fault for the accident. Some have insinuated that Laura Welch was criminally negligent and/or she had been drinking. However, no lawsuits or charges were ever filed. There is no evidence of wrongdoing on her part. No charges were filed as a result of the accident. There was another female teenage passenger in Laura Welch’s car but she remains unnamed in news articles.
Laura Welch was taken to the hospital after the accident and treated for minor injuries. Michael Douglas was a star athlete at Laura Welch’s high school. According to news reports, he was very popular among his peers.
So, there you have it, Laura Bush really was responsible for the death of a Michael Douglas but why the sudden interest in a story from 45 years ago?
Could it be another politically motivated dig at the Bush Administration as they prepare to leave office, or something else?

Politically incorrect is like a breath of fresh air in this world where we have to watch every little thing we say for fear of being admonished.

Obviously the guy dying isnt very funny at all but the family guy take was cool.
Very true that Michael Douglas dying wasn’t funny, let’s hope no-one forgets that.
