Scams

“Your Scams Are Like Bad Medicine”

Ok, so now you know that I was a Bon Jovi fan in a former life, but what has bad medicine got to do with Kevin Trudeau?

Businessman

Kevin Trudeau is undoubtedly a very accomplished businessman who has earned vast sums of money and appeared in a great number of ‘Infomercials’, so many in fact that I would doubt many Americans have never seen one.

Trudeau is the author of several well known books, such as ‘Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You To Know’. His writing and infomercials have put him under the media spotlight many times, however, he is also equally well known for his controversial claims and well documented criminal activities.

In “Natural Cures ‘They’ Don’t Want You To Know” he claims that it is imposible to contract cancer in alkaline cells. Therefore, he continues, cancer could be eradicated simply by changing the pH of such cells so that they become alkaline.

Coral Calcium

Kevin Trudeau Scam

The book goes on to further claim that coral calcium had been known to cure many cases of terminal cancer, a fact that has never been medically proven.

Despite his outlandish and unproven claims, Kevin Trudeau still managed to scam over fifteen thousand people in a period of ten months, taking them for $1000 each in return for dubious products he sold that could, at absolute best, provide a temporary solution and certainly not a permanent cure.

Whilst Kevin Trudeau is obviously a savvy businessman, he is certainly not a medical professional. During the early 1990s he was convicted of larceny in Masschusetts, having posed as a doctor in order to gain credibility with banking officials. For this crime he received a two year prison sentence.

Fraud

Trudeau has also been convicted of committing fraud against American Express and Citibank for $100000 and $5000 respectively. In 2003 he was banned by the FTC from making infomercials which made false claims. A year later and he was found in contempt of court for violating that directive.

Such a setback didn’t phase Kevin Trudeau at all though. In 2005 he ran a full page advertisement in Newsweek magazine and has now published a new book, also full of dubious claims, entitled, “Lose 30 Pounds In 30 Days - The Weight Loss Secret ‘They’ Don’t Want You To Know About”.

One can only guess who “They” are.

It is a scam. The guy is a criminal AND a liar. I’ve worked in oncology for over a decade, and believe me, that book - and the author - are full of crap.

I’ve tried alot of things in his book. It all works wonderfully, if you do everything he says and read the whole book.

How many people did you ‘cure’ at your oncology group? Not very good odds at surviving when one submits to radiation and chemo. I’ve known four people in recent years that didn’t make it because your types were going to save them. When will people like you begin to look at what causes different types of cancer instead of the “find a cure money machine”.

Having worked in oncology can you comment on Kevin Trudeau’s claims about cancer not manifesting in alkaline cells? Is there any truth in that whatsoever?

Yes, healthy people don’t have cancer. When you balance you body’s ph level it becomes healthy. It takes more than just reading a couple lines of his book to get healthy though, usually. If you want to see real results, you must do everything he says exactly, pretty much, and read the whole book. He specifies that at the begining.
    Thank you.

    Simple as that.
he hides his lies in enough
    “truths” to seem believable.

I agree. Someone who could hoax people about cures for illnesses is nothing less than evil. Is there a post about L-glutathione? Many websites claim it prevents cancer. However, Asians who want lighter complexion find its skin whitening effect more alluring. Is there any truth to all this. Can someone please enlighten me?!

I’ve not heard about L-glutathione but I’m intrigued now - I will put some research time into it and see what I can find out…

Aruna, I have used the search engines, and visited some forums, to find out what I could about L-glutathione for you.

I didn’t find anything to suggest that it is a scam in anyway, in fact there are many fans of it and, apparently, it is used by a lot of celebrities too.

Something to watch out for though, is the fact that there are a few odd reports of people getting ripped off with fake L-glutathione, and some who have adverse skin reactions with it.

Thank you once again, Scam. Glad to know there is some truth to it. But what if scammers are pretending to be fans in those forums? The claim is that the miracle capsules destroy melanin pigment in the body and so a person becomes lighter complexioned, but what happens to the melanin in the hair follicle? So there could probably be undesirable side effects of the drug that is not discussed.

There will always be people in forums who are both for and against pretty much anything for various reasons, including promoting something they wish to make money from.

There’s not much you can do about that, other than read from a variety of sources in order to try and get a balanced view.

I have certainly seen talk of undesirable side effects, most notably skin irritation so that’s definitely something to be aware of.

As for melanin and hair follicles, I think that is beyond my scope to comment on and you would be better served speaking to a medical practitioner perhaps?

I dunno - maybe a scam’r - but I will never forget seeing Kevin Trudeau and his infomercial regarding mega-memory. Done as the “Danny Bonaduci Show” with special guest Kevin Trudeau. It was the most amazing example of American crap TV I’ve ever seen in my life and if dopes wanna send him money for such stuff then… well, a fool and his (or her) money were lucky to get together in the first place.

The ftc and the fda are both crooked. The dig up irrelevant facts about him to debunk cures that interfere with the profits of the companys that pay the fda-ftc. That’s their job, ss crooked as it is.
Many people in medical, doctors, fda, ftc, etc. do things even worse than credit card fraud, alot worse, but who bothers them???? NO ONE!!!!! I was a victom of some pretty awfull things some doctors did to me, unjustly and against my will, so I know firsthand what goes on. Trust me! Also his credit card fraud was in the past and he did time, so let it rest already! everyone has a past of some sort right? And credit card fraud and medicine are two very diferent issues!!!!!!!! He’s not operating on you or anyone or giving pills like crooked doctors do just for money. So why badger him. Thank you.

I for one do debate the merits of modern medicine, but am not entirely convinced by the alternatives either -
