Manchester City, who have recently become the world’s richest football club, have shown their naivety in the January transfer market.
Commentators expressed surprise and concern alike as the Eastlands club reportedly bid £100 million to lure Brazilian playmaker Kaka to the previously unfashionable side of Manchester.
RECORD TRANSFER DEAL
Against all odds, the club successfully completed the transfer, the highest ever in football history, at 12:40 GMT today.
It is believed that the clubs new owner, Sheikh FlashtheKash, was personally responsible for completing the deal through auction website eBay.
With billions of dollars of oil money, the Sheikh has confirmed that money is no object in building his dream team and was more than happy to seal the deal on a ‘Buy It Now’ offer of £100,000,000 (107,000,000 Euros).

Unfortunately, however, the eagerness of the club’s ownership in sealing the deal meant they were left with egg on their faces.
Ten minutes after the funds were transferred via paypal they received their item via instant delivery which left them perplexed as they had expected Kaka to arrive via plane instead.
A spokesman for the club, Imani Diot, explained :
“It seems like Sheikh FlashtheKash ignored rule #1 on the auction site which is to always read the listing carefully in order to ensure you know what you are buying.
It seems like Manchester City are now the proud owners of a new club mascot, a parrot from New Zealand called Kaka.
Manager Mark Hughes is hopeful, however, that we can play him in central defence and move up the Premier League table.”
The parrot, pictured below with his agent Phil C, was unavailable for comment.

The scam here is that Kaka was almost certainly never going to go to a club threatened with relegation. Insteas it was all probably a publicity stunt which raised his profile and added some credibility to man city.
Hmmm… that sounds quite perceptive to me.
Not only did the Kaka transfer fall through but now it looks like there may be issues with Robinhio.
Or maybe not.. sounds like he just had a family issue to attend to.

I don’t think ANY footballer is worth that but if such a transfer is going to happen then Kaka is one of the best players in the world.

If this deal goes through then it will ensure Man City get the title in the next couple of years
I’m not so sure about that as whoever they buy has to be able to gel together as a team. I remember sides like Real Madrid buying big in the past and still not getting instant success.
This story is almost as absurd as the £107m that really has been bid.
