Population Control, Facebook Style

Facebook is getting mighty popular these days.
So popular in fact that they have had to issue takedown notices to inactive members on their site in attempt to relieve stresses on their servers -
Attention all Facebook members.
Facebook is recently becoming very overpopulated, There have been many members complaining that Facebook is becoming very slow.
Record shows that the reason is that there are too many non-active Facebook members And on the other side too many new Facebook members.
We will be sending this messages around to see if the Members are active or not,If you’re active please send to other users using Copy Paste to show that you are active.
Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks, The user will be deleted without hesitation to create more space, If Facebook is still overpopulated we kindly ask for donations but until then send this message to all your friends and make sure you send this message to show me that your active and not deleted.

If you are an avid fan of Facebook and receive this email then fret not - it is very much an email hoax, similar in respects to the hoax about Hotmail closing down.
You can easily verify this for yourself by re-reading the email.
The formatting and typing style is poor, to say the least.
Also, even though Facebook is designed to earn copious amounts of money for Mr Zuckerberg, they are hardly in need of donations methinks!
I never get emails like this. How do you find out about them?
Before this site, some years ago, I had another unrelated one. For contact I actually listed my email address on the site which lead to spam like you wouldn’t believe.
That’s where all the scam emails come from.
As for the hoaxes, I have several friends local and at work who forward them to me.
There are also a couple of visitors, the type who never leave comments, who regularly send me things that they think may be of interest.
So, I need more spam

I cant tell you how happy I am to know this is a hoax as all of my online sociallising takes place on Facebook.
I’ve barely used Facebook, nor MySpace - do you think they are worth investing time into?
I don’t find that MySpace and Facebook are good for reconnecting with old friends and staying in touch and curing boredom at work.
But professionally, I’ve found better ways to network. JMO
Care to share those better ways with us Shades?
I think for website networking things like stumbleupon and link referral work best (at least they have been for me).

I think LinkedIn will help me more in the corporate world.
I’m still learning most of these things. I saw some of the managers from my day job have profiles on LinkedIn…
I’ve never delved into that one, and doubt it’s suitable for me, but let me know how it goes, along with that $3000 target for August!
