Thanks to Rosa for sending us a message via the ‘Report A Scam‘ link here at ScamTypes
Ok, looking at this message, the first thing that jumps out at me is the reference to the Bank of Zenth.
The Bank of Zenth is also known as the Bank of Zenith and is situated in… can you guess? Yep, that’s right - Lagos, Nigeria. The Bank of Zenth actually seems to be a legitimate financial institution so is probably being quoted here to legitimise the content of the email.
With EIB there are a few possibilities, the most likely being that the sender is intimating that they work for the European Investment Bank which would certainly look good on anyone’s resume!
However, the fact that you have randomly won some money and that the sender wants your personal details strongly suggests that it will turn into a 419 or advance fee scam. More than likely there will be problems getting the funds that will require your up front payment to sort out.
Finally, the email address is the nail in the coffin. Someone working for the EIB on official business would send from an @eib.com address, not a yahoo one. The Bank of Zenth reference clearly indicates a Nigerian is behind this one so disregard the fact that it is a .co.uk email address - anyone can get one of those with ease, regardless of their actual location.
I had recived an email from a Ernest EIB at ernestebi_01@yahoo.com, stating that I have won some monies and he needs my information in order for him to submit it to the Bank Of Zenth. This is not the first time that I recieve this kind of emails and they are all from UK,at yahoo.
Verdict : SCAM!
