Is Arbonne A Scam?
Often, what we think about a potential opportunity is based upon our own perceptions of life.
There is, perhaps, no right or wrong answer so therefore the following is merely my opinion -
My original post about Arbonne was almost 3 months ago now and since then I have found some more information. Hence this updated post.
Arbonne International was founded in 1980 in Irvine, California. The company was developed by the current president, Petter Morck. The company boasts a product range in excess of 300 products, consisting mainly of body care, skin care, nutritional supplements, weight loss aids, hair products, anti-aging creams and aromatherapy. All the products sold by Arbonne International are claimed to be 100% natural, formed from botanical and herbal products.
The market that Arbonne operates in is an extremely competitive one and yet they appear to be prospering very well. This success may be down to, and I hate to say it, multi level marketing.
MLM
It’s well known to regular readers that I am not a fan of MLM. However, in the case of Arbonne I found very few negative complaints and those that can be found on the internet tend to relate purely to the difficulties of gaining sales, something which should be an obvious consideration to anyone hoping to make money with the types of products that Arbonne sells.
With many retailers selling skin care and beauty related products, in addition to other multi level marketing companies such as Mary Kay and Avon I can imagine that making money with Arbonne could be very tough.
On the positive side, the entry level costs are very low. For a basic level introduction the starter kit can be purchased for as little as $29, allowing a potential distributor to test both the waters and their own ability to sell with little financial risk.
Conclusion
My opinion of Arbonne International has not changed much since the last time I wrote about them. Personally, I don’t like muti level marketing, however, Arbonne is cheap to join and there are very few comments on the net to suggest that they are a scam in any way.
With sales in excess of $30 million dollars, and 35% of that being returned to distributors, it looks like there is some potential for budding Arbonne distributors who have the skills and determination to succeed.
Verdict : NOT a scam but might be a tough market to earn in.
