The Rising Cost Of Gasoline

in Hoaxes

Here in the UK the price of petrol (gasoline) seems to be rising every day.

We now pay around £1.20 (approx $2.50) per litre!

Maybe such prices have led to the number of instances of theft where people fill their tanks and then drive off without paying.

Even so, don’t pay attention an email about stolen number plates if you receive it -

gasoline hoaxAn email which appears to have originated in Pennsylvania claims that people are stealing license plates, putting those plates on other vehicles and stealing gasoline with those vehicles, state police said.

Versions of the e-mail say owners of these stolen plates could be held responsible for drive-off gasoline thefts.

Police said they are not generating this e-mail and that the public should ignore it because the information simply is false.

- it’s a hoax!
