Hoaxes

Email hoaxes arn’t just about missing children.

Some of the more commonly received hoaxes warn of non-existent viruses, like the ‘AntiChrist’ virus listed below -

AntiChrist Virus hoax

ALERT: THE WORST VIRUS IN THE HISTORY.

It has just been discovered a new virus that has been classified for Microsoft and for Mcafee like the most destructive of all times.

This virus was discovered yesterday and is known with the name of ANTICHRIST, it has not been discovered an antivirus for it, it simply destroys the furrow zero of the hard disk, where vital information for its operation are kept.

It works in the following way:

1. It sends itself to all the names of your address book with the title: “SURPRISE?!!!!!!!!!!

2. In the moment that it is installed it destroys the furrow zero and in this way it destroys forever the hard disk. Please send this E-mail to the most possible people, in case of receiving an e-mail with subject “SURPRISE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”!, make yourself get advise from an expert because it has auto-install capacity.

Quite what the original writer of such a virus hoax gets out of it, I am not sure.

Anyone got any ideas???
