WARNING : New Interactive Virus Discovered

in Humor

Today I received an email containing a new type of virus.

Going by the name of angola-marburg.help, it can render a computer system useless in just minutes.

What is especially noteworthy about this new virus is it’s interactive element, made necessary by the lack of computer programming skills and technology in the sender’s country.

To explain things much more clearly, I have included the email that first alerted me to this new virus -

From: h4ckr@angola-marburg.com

Subject: angola-marburg.help

Dear Sir

As the good people of Angola do not have the technological means or programming experience to make a proper virus I am forced to approach you in this most unusual manner.

As a wannabe script-kiddie it is my desire to wreak havoc upon your computer system sir.

For this I trust I can rely upon your cooperation?

If you are in agreement with my proposal then I bid you proceed with deletion of all files upon your hard drive.

Before this step I forgot to mention that it is imperative that you manually forward this email to everyone on your email contact list.

Warmest regards

Your good friend h4ckr.

As I am sure you agree, this virus has the potential to trick millions of unsuspecting web users across the globe.

Don’t say you haven’t been warned!!

    LOL!

Reminds me of way, way back in the day, a guy sent out a joke email to AOL users, telling them they had a virus that was preventing them from using their upper intelligence registers. It gave detailed instructions on how to find and delete their aol.exe file, and promised if they did that it would allow their IQ to go over 85.

The email “virus warning” went quite viral, and an astonishing number of people fell for it (see “gullibility virus”).

Thanks for that dotlizard – it nicely sums up why computer viruses are such a big problem still.

Its not so much the machines or the software is it… its the foolish people who use them :D

I have been watching this thread intently and am glad to see my virus has finally tricked some hapless fool.

Bobby Revell, the man who made Eddie Van Halen’s guitars, goes down as the world’s first victim of the angola-marburg.help virus.

Now sir please to send these instructions to all of your friends via email.

You will of course need to find an alternative computer because you have wiped your hard drive.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Ok…I formatted my hard drive, what do I do next? Am I doing everything right to fully comply?
